Mid Range Big Screen TVs the Perfect
Price.
There is always room for compromise when it comes to purchasing an HDTV. If you aren't that willing to compromise, you can still find a great Tv for a much lower price tag.
More manufacturers are coming out with midrange HDTVs as more people want cheaper TVs. More brands will make a stake in this midrange market soon, but for now lesser known brands are providing the main percentage of the product.
One such manufacturer is Envision. Their midrange HDTVs provide all the features of the high end models for a reduced price. You can see where the savings are though. The contrast ratio is 1200:1, which isn't bad by any standards, but compared to high end brands that have 1500:1 contrast ratios...well, you will see the difference. It seems that otherwise, the Envision brand is right on track with high end brands.
Another midrange brand is the Alqemi LCD HDTV. This brand actually is at the higher end of the midrange category. A lot pricier than the Envision HDTVs, the Alqemi LCDs are really, really nice. The contrast ratio is lower than the Envision brand, however, which is rather odd considering the large difference in price. The picture doesn't seem to suffer for it, though. Perhaps the sizes of the Alqemi are what make them more expensive, but still within the midrange prices.
These HDTVs are still a value, without conceeding too much in the quality of the picture. It seems that the marketing for these brands focuses on students and people with a modest income. If you are going to go cheap, you might as well skip these midrange brands and go for the bronze...the low end. They aren't that different from these midrange brands and are a much better value if you are looking for a cheap HDTV.
