A Plasma TV Offers Unparalleled Performance
With the Smallest Footprint Possible.

What the heck is a Plasma TV? We’ll the first concept that makes Plasma TVs possible is the plasma gas itself.

The plasma contained in Plasma TVs is devoid of neutron particles, making the gas a very efficient conductor of electricity.

Contained in each “Plasma Pack” of a Plasma screen are 2 charge electrodes which discharge electricity that causes the plasma gases to change state, which causes the emission of ultraviolet light.  This light then “excites” the phosphors of the Plasma Pack, causing a visible light emission that creates the image that you see on a Plasma television set.

Okay… So why is this better than a traditional CRT or Tube Based TV?

First of all, Plasmas are designed specifically to display High Definition Images.  Most folks are familiar with the NTSC North American Standard Definition Signal, which has a pixel resolution of 720 pixels wide by 486 pixels tall.  Depending on the type of Plasma, resolutions of  1080i (the current HD maximum resolution) can be displayed with no resolution up conversion – meaning you’ll be watch HD as it was originally meant to be viewed.

It’s so thin, you can hang a Plasma TV from your wall!  Because a it doesn’t rely on CRT’s to produce an image, the slim design of the Plasma Packs enables the device to be very shallow.  Some Plasma television designs are only 3 inches thick!

Plasma TVs don’t interlace.  You’ve probably heard all of the hoop-la about progressive scan DVD players.  We’ll consider that because a Plasma doesn’t use a CRT to scan individual lines to form an image, instead, they operate on a progressive scan principal.  The individual pixels of a Plasma television are always on, all but eliminating that annoying “buzzing” effect found on normal TVs when it attempts to display fine details.

Cinema Like Aspect Ratio:  Have you noticed how much wider a Plasma is than a normal television?  This feature is called a “Wide Screen Aspect Ratio”.  A Plasma television has an aspect ratio of 16:9, meaning that it’s almost 2 wider than it is tall.  What’s the use?  85% of feature films are shot in an aspect ratio that’s almost identical to the 16:9 aspect ratio, making it capable of displaying a Feature Film the way it was originally shot, without being in an annoying letterbox.

Flexible Source Handling.  A Plasma TV is based on a multi-sync display technology, enabling you to hook up almost any Video Source you have available.  Imagine having not only your DVD and HD receiver attached to your TV, but think about surfing the Internet on your Plasma Screen as well!

Yeah, but, Plasma TVs are BIG bucks, right?  They are more expensive that an traditional display device, but there are way to save big on your Plasma Screen Purchase!  Take a look at the list of accredited online Plasma TV dealers. These online merchants have proven to be reliable, honest, excel at customer service and have some of the lowest prices online.  They have received our highest recommendation.
