traditional tube TV contains one CRT that shoots an electron beam that

primary color, red green and blue.
The CRTs
of a rear projection TV are emitted at a much higher intensity, actually
projecting the light off of the face of the CRT onto an optically pure

correspond to the distance between the 3 CRT’s, the Mirror and the

the CRTs of Projection units do not need to be anywhere near the size of

inches with its tube,
plasma, or LCD counterparts is on the order of 50% less.
This
price advantage is realized because the size of the elements of
projection TVs are relatively standardized, meaning the CRTs (the most
expensive part of any Projection TV) are pretty much the same size no
